Attractions at Agistri

Agistri is located 45 minutes off the port of Piraeus which has a daily shuttle operating between the island and itself. On completing the journey one will find a small scenic island, with undisturbed forestation and stunning blue hues of the sea. Agistri also boasts of several other locations that tourists can visit on their stop at the Island.

Beaches:

The most popular beach on the island is the Skala beach. Its popularity is enhanced by the fact that it has no rocky ledges protruding and has shallow, timid waters making it safe for both children and adults. It has several commercial services available; as there are sunbeds, umbrellas and food stalls dotted along to serve tourists. Tourists frolicking on the beach can also visit the nearby church which is a splendid piece of architecture. Tourists who prefer to shed their inhibitions and support naturism have the option of visiting the nudist Halikadha beach at Agistri Island. Boat Trips to Surrounding Islands:

There are various small islands around Agistri which do not have any inhabitants, but are visited by tourists to Agistri Island. These 4 islands are serviced by special boats that take interested tourists to Metopi, Kira, Spalathronisi and Darousa for snorkeling and other activities. Varying level of instruction can be undertaken by those interested in the field of diving.

Historical Sites:

The Agioi Theodoroi and Agioi Pandes are two chapels located in the midst of heavy forestation of pine trees. These two buildings are part of the roots of Agistri, and one can gather more information about the island from here than anyone else. The Virgin Mary Church at Metochi can be accessed via a trekking path which offers a stunning view of nature along the way. Several other historical churches are found on this island.
