Traffic snarl-ups on Dubrovnik streets are apparent evidence of skyrocketing number of arrivals in the first 7 months of this year. “9% more visitor arrivals and 7% more overnight stays are realized. We are planning about ten percent increase in tourism results,” said Jelka Tepisic, director of TZ Dubrovnik.
The results in Dubrovnik-Neretva County are similar. In the 1st 7 months arrivals increased by 7 p.c, and overnight stays by 5 p.c. Hotel traffic increased by 7 p.c, while the camps and non-public owners noted a decline of 3 and 2 p.c.
“The first information shows generally the increase in revenue compared to last year, but we are going to see what will occur with the cost side of the total business,” claimed Vladimir Bakic, director of TZ Dubrovnik-Neretva county.
President of Dubrovnik travel agents highlights that the most plush hotels achieved the most impressive results and are scheduled from May to late September. Hotels with 5 stars are literally sold out.
“We are achieving superb costs and according to the situation as it is now, a recession has passed,” said Luca Baca from Grand Villa Argentina – a beautiful villa located in an exclusive area, near the consequential middle of Dubrovnik.
